Family camping in
Oxfordshire

Riverside meadows, the White Horse and camping within reach of the dreaming spires.

Oxfordshire is quietly one of the best family camping counties in the UK. The Thames threads across it, giving you riverside sites where children paddle while boats drift past. The Vale of White Horse rises in the south with chalk hills, ancient monuments and meadow campsites where campfires are still welcome. And Oxford itself, with its museums, punting and ice cream, is an easy day out from almost every site on this list.

Our Oxfordshire picks run from the simple and soulful (Ye Olde Swan's island in the Thames, Evelyn's Garden on the Ridgeway) to the fully loaded (Lincoln Farm Park, with indoor pools, sauna and gym). All are within about 30 miles of Faringdon.
