Outdoor pool, fishing lake and Henley's riverside five minutes' walk away. Polished camping in the Chilterns.
Our verdict

Swiss Farm sits a few hundred yards from the top of Henley's famous riverside, close enough to stroll down for boat-watching and ice cream, far enough back to be green and peaceful. The seasonal outdoor pool is the campsite hero, mobbed with happy children on warm afternoons, and there is a fishing lake with resident ducks for quieter moments.
Pitches range from simple tent spots to fully serviced hard standings, and the on-site bar does relaxed family dinners in high season. Henley itself brings the River and Rowing Museum, boat hire and the gorgeous Thames Path. During the Royal Regatta in early July the whole town sparkles, and books out.
Why children love it
- Heated outdoor pool in season, a rare treat this close to the Thames
- Fishing lake with ducks to feed and easy bank access
- Playground and acres of mowed space for games
Days out nearby
- Henley riverside and boat hire (walkable)
- River and Rowing Museum (with the Wind in the Willows gallery)
- Greys Court, National Trust (10 minutes)
Know before you go
- Regatta week (early July) books out a year ahead and prices rise, plan around it.
- The pool is open roughly late May to early September.
- Walk into Henley along the field path rather than the road.
The honest bit
Henley prices and Henley crowds, especially around the Regatta in early July when pitches vanish a year out.
